ASP Hosting Workflow

The standard workflow on the ASP begins with the
capture of audio via telephonic means, via the website, or through
portable dictation devices such as digital recorders or Pocket
PCs. Optionally, demographic data can accompany digital audio when
it is captured via telephone.
The captured audio and demographic data is then
passed to the ASP system either directly from the dictation servers
or via the Internet. Once the audio data has been imported into
the system, it is assigned a unique job identification number and
is managed in an object oriented database. This provides the backbone
of our workflow management, and the jobs and additional data from
available interfaces are made ready for processing by transcriptionists.
Jobs are acquired by a transcriptionist who securely
logs into the ASP website. Depending upon the configuration for
that transcriptionist, processing may be accomplished by listening
to the audio of the job from the website and editing online or
by downloading both the audio data and accompanying job template
and editing offline in MS Word. Once finished the job is checked
back into the ASP website if editing in off-line mode, or marked
as completed in the online editor.
Depending upon the workflow configuration, jobs
may either next go directly to approved, or may pass through a
series of workflow steps, including editing, QA, and proofing,
into which electronic approval and signature can be easily integrated.
Once a job is in approved status, it is ready for
delivery through the website via download, via download direct
to the desktop, or via electronic export in a wide variety of formats
including HL7, XML, DOC, RTF, TXT, PDF and so forth.
Billing is automatically calculated on a per job basis and TAT and
workflow processing metrics are generated by the system. |
